The book itself is as good as it can get, but BEWARE: the Paperback version printed by Amazon Printing services or Amazon publishing services or whatever the #%$@#% it is called is absolute garbage. Avoid at all costs:- THIS BOOK AS PRINTED BY AMAZON IS 99 PAGES !
For anyone remembering the original format - it is a 300+ page book. You get the idea.
- It has a half baked size - taller and wider than a Letter sized paper, smaller than a Legal size paper - it is very close to music sheet paper, probably 9x12 size
- The text is crammed on those huge sheets, with barely any indentation at all. You can barely start the lines on the pages on the right, as they are so crammed to the left that the beginning of each line is hidden in the folding. The font size is tiny, barely readable.
- All in all, this is a disgusting attempt to cram a real book on as few pages as possible to save paper. It looks like a raw dump of an unformatted text file - like reading a book in Notepad.
Would amazon have printed this on a roll of toilet paper, there wouldn't have been a big difference.
Thanks but no thanks. My kids' eyes are worth something, and I won't mess them up on this inexcusable garbage of a setup so amazon can make a buck.

Classic work of the period. Takes me back to when I was a boy reading old and musty volumes I dug up in my grandparents' attic.
a Good story that kept you guessing at the ending.
curwood kept me in his grasp until the end, which was a real surprise.
A fun and entertaining story. I only give it three stars because it doesn't seem realistic to me.
While predictable in parts, still a fun read when men were nobel and women were considered rare flowers. Has a mystery to solve, and an endurance test to pass before love can be rewarded.
Adventure, Romance. Intrigue!
What more could you ask? Always a joy to read!!
Forever delighted that I found my first book by James Curwood those many years ago, which set me on such a journey!
I love stories of the northwest had great characters plenty of descriptive scenes and a beautiful ending will read more his books.
I've read this book over quite a few times! This is the first book by this author that I read and I liked it so much I've been continuing on with more of his books. This author is one of my favorite and I like his books! I enjoy it when he writes about the far north and the RCMP.
